Two players from the Mexican league side Guadalajara took part in the goal celebration which saw them pretend to shoot each other in the head.
The incident took place during Guadalajara’s 5-2 win over Estudiantes UAG. Striker Marco Fabian de la Mora, who scored a hat-trick during the win and celebrated one of his goals by approaching midfielder Alberto Medina and pretending to shoot him in the head.
Alberto Medina, who contributed to the goal, dropped to the ground as part of the mock-execution celebration. The incident saw the two players fined 50,000 Mexican pesos, or roughly £2,500.
