Is it true a Mexican club put their players Twitter names on their shirts?

Yes, it's true. In a clever piece of public relations, the Mexican Primera club Jaguares, took the unusual step in October 2011 of replacing their squad's real names with their Twitter names. The club even coloured the names in Twitter blue and added the tweeting bird logo.

They also replaced their beer company sponsors' normal advertising by adding their Twitter address @cervezasol, thereby earning them some extra followers on the social networking site.

I think this could be a sign that we will be seeing more clubs using the Jaguares’ idea.
