Andrey Arshavin has landed in hot water after arguing with Russian football fans after the national team crashed out of Euro 2012, following a shock 1-0 defeat to Greece in their final group.

The incident occurred when Arshavin was confronted by fans in the lobby of Warsaw;s luxury Bristol hotel following the match.

With fans booing him and calling for his head, following a series of abject performances, the Russian snapped at the waiting fans.

“The fact that we didn't meet your expectations is not our problem - it's your problem,” he reportedly told fans.

“We lost because we didn't score and Greece scored. Nothing will change because of these discussions.”
