Al Ain and UAE national team star Omar Abdulrahman is
set to arrive in Europe this summer, though the youngster has yet to confirm
where he will move.
His departure was all but confirmed by Al Ain manager Cosmin
Olaroiu in a recent interview with The National on the player’s future.
Olaroiu said: Yes, Omar deserves it. He's a fantastic player
whose place is abroad and I hope he's going to do this. I hope he gets what he
deserves as he'll provide a good image for UAE football and the country."
The player was previously on trial with Manchester City while Benfica and
Arsenal have also been linked with the UAE player following a string of
impressive displays for the national team at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Omar Abdulrahman is meanwhile relishing the opportunity
to play in Europe – regardless of where he may end up.
"I see everywhere as a challenge, so if teams are
coming from the English Premier League, Italy's Serie A or the Spanish La Liga,
I'd wish to play in any of them," he says. "There are lots of players
who people say can't cope in certain leagues but end up doing well.
"But of all, the competition in Spain would probably be
best. I believe I can play there."
